I should do this more often

My kids came home from school and the first thing they always do is head for the fridge. They are usually starving.

Hannah opened the fridge and gasped..."Wow! Look at this! Cool! What did you do, Mom? Dylan, come here! You've got to see the fridge!"

What did I do that was so awe inspiring?

I cleaned it.

Talent, lack of talent, and a new site meter to prove it.

I said in my last post that I lack talent. Thats because I find other bloggers on the web who are just so good at writing. They make me laugh and they make me cry. Several months ago I posted a poem that I found hidden in an old journal of mine. I had written it when I was about 18. I lamented my lack of talent even then. Why do I want to be something I am not? Sigh.

Some of the blogs I have enjoyed:

Real Live Preacher: This guy is awesome! He is a real live preacher in San Antonio, TX
Ramblings of a Third Grade Mind: This is Real Live Preacher's brother.
Fat Free Vegan: I'm not fat free, nor am I vegan, but I love to cook and she does a great job with her recipes and pictures. I just love reading this blog.
Trixie Update: This guy is (was?) a stay at home Dad to his daughter while his wife was in Residency (or medical school, or something). He started Trixie Update to keep friends and family posted on what was going on. Lately, as Trixie has gotten older (I think she's 3 or so now), I think he has started to work and he doesn't post as much, but its worth it to go back and read the old stuff.

Site Meter

Just so I can depress myself with cold hard facts, I put a site meter on my blog so I can know just how few people actually read this thing.

Ok, just so you know, I lack confidence in my writing (betcha couldn't tell), and I haven't really told more than one or two people about the blog anyway, so, um, no wonder!
