I wish I had talent. Sigh...
Every once in a while I find a blogger who is extremely gifted at blogging. They can actually write. I'm not one of those people. I keep hoping that I am. But sadly...I am not. Thats why I say in my blog title that this is a dumb blog. It really is dumb. Oh well. It is my life.

Spring Brings Caterpillars!
Caterpillars are everywhere! Why do I know? Because my kids collect them. Everyday at school they find them on the playground and carefully sneak them home (takes talent--Hypatia got caught a couple of times already--she got in trouble, I guess you aren't allowed to bring caterpillers into the classroom). Then the kids get home and find more. They get all my rubbermaid containers and make little homes for them with dirt, sticks, grass and leaves. Then the caterpillars eventually die. I tell them to leave the poor little things alone, but they are so alluring to children. Wade is learning to hold them without squishing them. Sadly, many didn't survive the process.

Wade...is 2
This kid is in his terrible twos! He's a wonderful kid, really, but he just loves to get into things. Hmm...some of his latest adventures?
He dumped a bag of rice out onto the living room carpet.
He started scooping the brown sugar into the Aloe Vera plant we have sitting on the kitchen table. I guess he thought the brown sugar was dirt. He had just seen his father replant it the day before so he knew just what to do.
Once he had the gallon jug of vinegar with the lid open. I saw him and yelled for him to stop. All I got in response was a backwards glance as he took off running. Must...escape...mommy... I caught up with him just as he fell in the living room and the vinegar was glug glugging onto the floor.
He has ruined more rolls of toilet paper than I can count. He loves to toss them right into the toilet or just completely unroll it and then toss it all into the toilet.
None of this is very out of the ordinary for a rambunctious 2 year old, I must admit, but it sure keeps me on my toes.
Yesterday he got into my makeup and tried to put on my mascara. He then proceeded to write all over the floor with it. Luckily, my bathroom has only concrete at the moment until we put new flooring down. No biggie. Wanna see a picture of Wade with mascara? He's got talent! But now I need some new mascara. I can only imagine all the bacteria growing in it now!
When Hannah was injured and home from school for a few days, she got bored and turned to a favorite game of any 8 year old girl with a baby brother. She dressed him up in girl clothes. He was so cute! He had a bad cold though, so his eyes were a bit puffy and gooey.

Spring is here and the dogwoods are blooming
I have many faults, one of which is that I totally neglect the yard. We have only been in our current house now for just under a year. Some past owner of this house must have enjoyed working in the yard, though. Thank goodness! I love springtime! The flowers are everywhere! The Dogwoods are blooming and we even have 3 Tulips blooming at the base of our dogwood! It gives off a sort of zen/Japanese garden sort of feel (can you tell how ignorant I am about that sort of thing? heh heh). Then there are the Wisteria and Azaeleas. Just beautiful!

Conversations with a child
We were going to Murphreesboro to look for diamonds. In the car, on the way, Sean saw some vultures. He pointed them out to the children. The conversation went something like this:
Sean: Look! Turkey vultures! (there were several circling above us).
Hannah: Oh, yeah, we learned about those in school.
Sean: Really? What did you learn?
Hannah: We learned that when their heads turn purple, they are about to puke.
Sean and I just howled with laughter when she said that. It was so unexpected.
Here is my youngest. What a cutie!
Ankle Injury
Ok, so for the first time in my life, I've started lifting weights. I really like it so far. It feels really good when those muscles work like that. I think I've suffered my first injury though. I've hurt my ankle. It happen while I was doing lunges, (or it happened when my 2 year old swung a little stool around and whacked me on the ankle-I'm not sure exactly, lol) Its a bit swollen and sore, although I can walk on it (with a bit of a limp). So now I'm doing cardio 3 days a week and I'm doing strength and resistance 3 days a week. I'm only breaking in with 30 minute sessions. I'm really liking it! I hope to be in shape eventually! :)
